International Inspirations/Lux Accessories, a costume jewelry and fashion accessories company, was founded by Mandy and Shaya Reiter in 2005. In the past nine years the company has had tremendous  growth and established a significant presence in nearly all major specialty stores throughout the country. The key combination of the company’s fashion-forward design and competitive pricing has made International Inspirations/ Lux Accessories a key player and well-known name in the industry.

Accessories caught up with CEO Shaya Reiter along with his wife Creative Director and Chief Merchandiser Mandy Reiter, to discuss the company’s past, present and future.

Lux AccessoriesWhat is a typical day like for you?

Shaya: My day us not a typical 10 or 12 hour day. It is more like 24/7. As CEO of the company, I am involved with every area of the company: financial, sales, operations, warehouse, compliance, personnel and our China office.

What is your favorite part of this industry?

Shaya: Working with, mentoring and teaching my personnel. Without good knowledgeable people you can’t grow a business. Of course there is no greater reward than receiving  a great sales report with best sellers that turn into reorders.

What have been some of the biggest challenges in the market lately?

Mandy: Staying ahead of the curve with great product: being able to predict,  anticipate the needs and wants of the demanding  consumer.

Does your company have any important milestones coming up?

Shaya: 2015 will be our 10-year anniversary of being in business.

Lux AccessoriesAre you launching anything new for Fall/Holiday 2014?

Shaya: in February 2014, nOir Jewelry became a newly acquired wholly owned subsidiary of  International Inspirations  Ltd. In May 2014, the already successful nOir Brand was relaunched with the same essence, aesthetic and vision building it into a long term brand. nOir is a great success in high end specialty stores.

In terms of styling, what are you focusing on for the Fall/Holiday season?

Mandy: We are excited about black and the use of matte black and lace done in a contemporary way.

Lux AccessoriesWhich designers/runway fashion shows have been most influential for you in terms of planning your Fall/Holiday line?

Mandy: Aurelie Biderman, Grace Lee and Loree Rodkin.

Are there any celebrities, bloggers, movies, TV, music festivals, etc., that are driving trends for you lately?

Mandy: Coachella has been  a huge driver for our spring summer looks as well as in store now.
