New York—Visit our Paparazzi section to see your industry peers (and possibly yourself!) at this year’s annual Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball (FABB), honoring Henri Bendel’s Ed Bucciarelli. The accessories industry gathered May 4 to celebrate in at the annual Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball (FABB) which featured a more casual cocktail party format.  Ed Bucciarelli, ceo of Henri Bendel, received this year’s Fashion Accessories Merchandising Excellence award at the event which raised money for Save the Children Haiti.

Held at the Chelsea Piers overlooking the Hudson River, the 21st annual FABB attracted more than 600 people who networked and mingled, enjoying “dinner by the bite” and dance music by the Starlight Orchestra.

Actress and model Molly Sims introduced Bucciarelli, who spearheaded Henri Bendel’s change into an all-accessories merchandising format. Bucciarelli thanked the industry for their support of the specialty retailer’s direction as well as praised his buying team for their role. Bucciarelli, who has been president and ceo at Bendel’s since 2005, was past group vice president for accessories and cosmetics at Liz Claiborne Inc.

Unlike previous years where a formal sit-down dinner was central to the festivities, this year’s FABB was more casual with attendees wearing party attire and eating at buffet stations. FABB chairman and founder Reenie Brown explained that the new format emerged from FABB attendees’ fondness for the networking and the desire to keep ticket prices at $350.

Since its beginnings in 1990, FABB has raised more than $12 million for a wide range of charities. This year’s recipient of the ball’s proceeds is Save the Children Haiti, one of the leading relief organizations that has provided food, shelter, health and household supplies to the victims of the devastating January 12 earthquake.
