VIA SPIGA returns for Fall with a completely revamped footwear line.

VIA SPIGA is getting an overhaul for the upcoming Fall season. Thanks to new Creative Director Carla De Freitas, the American footwear label (named after the main boulevard of Milan’s famed shopping district) builds upon its legacy of craftsmanship while incorporating new, cutting-edge design innovations and production techniques.

The Fall line boasts a return to Italian craftsmanship and materials.

De Freitas’ first move? To move production of the brand’s comfortable fashion footwear from China back to its original factory in Italy (the same one, in fact, used when the brand first launched in 1985).

The move comes as part of a larger strategy to recommit the brand to its Italian roots. Premium materials like soft Italian leather, sumptuous suedes and rich calf hair are found across an array of silhouettes ranging from heeled boots to flats, pumps and sneakers. The color palette features classic neutrals and warm red and navy shades that combine for a feminine, timeless and modern feel.

Chic silhouettes remain comfortable for VIA SPIGA’s on-the-go woman.

“My design goal is to give working women a collection that they can come to for all their needs. We want them to look and feel great,” De Freitas adds. “There is a concerted effort in everything that we do towards making each pair comfortable without compromising the design and style. For me, this all begins with seeking out the finest materials and leveraging them in the most advanced design practices to date.”

The Fall 2017 Collection retails from $195 to $495, and is now available for purchase on VIA SPIGA’s refreshed website,, as well as select department stores and specialty boutiques.
