Stockholm–Versace is the latest fashion house to team up with H&M for an exclusive collection slated to hit 300 stores and HM.com on November 19.
Creative Director Donatella Versace will design the collection, so expect lots of studded leather, silk and colorful prints and notice-me accessories. The women’s collection includes 40 fashion pieces and 20 accessories, and there will also be men’s and home pieces.
‘Glamorous and Extraordinary’
“I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching their wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere,” says Versace.
Accessories include high-heeled shoes, handbags and jewelry. While specific pricepoints haven’t yet been released, H&M designer collaborations are always in sync with the company’s accessible approach, but at the higher end of the spectrum due to more upscale materials and details.
For H&M, Versace has looked back to the archives to reinterpret some classic Versace designs. The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses that express the spirit of the season, featuring studded leather, silk and colorful prints and accessories including high heels and costume jewelry.
“Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and extraordinary–everything Versace stands for. Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the festive season,” says Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.
The Versace collaboration is in good company. Fashion brands/designers such as Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Calypso and many others have all created collaborations to huge success.
Donatella will also create an H&M pre-spring collection, available online starting January 19 at hm.com.
