It may be the height of summer, but for Game of Thrones fans, winter is here. With the return of Season 7 last week, viewers have resumed their Sunday night ritual of sprawling onto the couch and watching the saga of their favorite characters. While the HBO hit has been lauded for its storytelling, the show is also receiving acclaim for its costuming and accessories, and designers are taking note. We rounded up our favorite GOT-inspired accessories fit for every Great House.
Eli Saab’s Fall Couture ’17 presentation created a fantastical world with “fallen kings, defeated by a heroic sisterhood [of] bright and brave warrior queens.” Medieval-inspired accessories featured jewel-encrusted crowns, armor-inspired bangles and earrings fit for royalty.
While the average fan may not be able to score a couture creation, they can wear the same pieces as Khaleesi in a new collection by MEY Designs. The result of a collaboration between GOT costume designer Michele Clapton and jewelry brand Yunus & Eliza, the MEY collection features an exact replica of the cross-body chain worn by Daenerys in the most-recent episode. The chain retails for $3,650, while the collection’s necklaces, bracelets, pendants and rings retail for $140 to $1,240.
Jewelry brand COUP is renowned for its artful use of gems and metals and innovative storytelling. Its most-recent offerings take a page (or scene, rather) from the GOT book with dragon-eqsue earrings that pay tribute to Khaleesi, red-and-gold statement pieces reminiscent of Cersei and icy white rings and hoops fit for Sansa, Queen of the North.
Enabling age-old craftsmanship, Pyrrha talismans are made using authentic wax seals in sterling silver or bronze. Pulling imagery from the Victorian era, many of the designs harken back to the dark ages, like family crests, owls and wolves. The designer also launched an official collaboration with Game of Thrones featuring quotes and imagery made famous by the show.
Last but not least, what’s a queen without her crown? France Luxe offers an array of crown-esque headbands and headwraps, like the Regent Crystal headband encrusted in genuine Swarovski crystals. Adjustable headwraps (also dotted with Swarovski crystals) feature an elastic strap for a perfect fit, offering the ability to wear across the forehead à la Eli Saab or around the crown as a headband.
Still not enough? A quick search for “Game of Thrones jewelry” on Etsy yields a host of pendants, rings, crowns and chokers fit for the middle ages.
