danielwellingtonNew York—Switzerland is the country most associated with watches these days, but another European country is the home of a leading watch brand that just was picked up by 19 Bloomingdale’s stores.

Daniel Wellington (www.danielwellington.com) will now be available at Bloomingdale’s across North America, including the retailer’s 59th Street flagship store, along with bloomingdales.com. An additional seven locations will carry Daniel Wellington by mid-October. Launched in 2011, the Swedish label will be one of the youngest brands carried by the retail giant.

Known for its sleek minimalistic watch designs with leather and fabric interchangeable straps, the Daniel Wellington brand T is available with women’s watches retailing for $135-$229 and men’s priced at $175 to $229.

“Daniel Wellington has successfully filled a niche in the market for a watch brand with elegance and classic design–at an attractive price point. We are excited to now offer Bloomingdale’s clientele our watches,” said Filip Tysander, founder of Daniel Wellington.

“We are always looking for new and exciting offerings for our loyal shoppers, so we are thrilled to introduce the Daniel Wellington collection here at Bloomingdale’s,” said Charles Leavy, Bloomingdale’s divisional merchandise manager for fine jewelry. “The combination of a minimalistic and classic face, paired with interchangeable straps, makes it an ideal watch for all occasions.”
