Heading to Vegas next week? WWDMAGIC as well as FN PLATFORM have lots to announce.
WWDMAGIC, a subsidiary of UBM Fashion and the largest showcase of women’s apparel and accessories in the industry, will debut two new areas on the show floor. The show – taking place February 21-23, 2017 at the Las Vegas Convention Center – will introduce two new initiatives.
ACCESSORIES THE SHOW @ WWDMAGIC
Accessories get a step up with the new Accessories the Show @ WWDMAGIC, offering one cohesive accessories shopping experience under one roof. The largest accessories show during the week in Las Vegas, Accessories the Show @ WWDMAGIC will be a well-merchandised, energetic atmosphere spanning over 50,000 square feet. The area will be broken down into three distinct neighborhoods, featuring a vibrant collective of venerable, classic and trend-driven brands. This move lets retailers – both domestically and internationally – better network, discover and explore new and emerging designers.
“The fashion industry has been longing for a more unified accessories community. Bringing Accessories the Show to WWDMAGIC is in response to that feedback from both sides of the aisle. This solution will offer a more time efficient and clearly defined shopping experience for the retailer,” said Shawn Hazan, Director of Planning & Development at UBM Fashion Group.
WWD CONTENT STUDIO
WWDMAGIC will also introduce the educational WWD Content Studio onto the show floor. Having first made its debut at Coterie in NYC, the content studio, run by WWD Studios, aims to bring MAGIC and its brands and retailers to the forefront of the international fashion industry. Located in the Grand Lobby, the studio will offer live content created straight from the show floor along with panels covering timely industry topics. Brands will have the opportunity to get involved in industry related conversations while discussions will be led by Marcy Medina, West Coast Bureau Chief at WWD and Alex Badia, Style Director of WWD.
“The content studio debuted at Coterie this past fall and we saw great success with it! We decided to bring it to the Las Vegas showcase to expand opportunities for our brands,” said Kelly Helfman, Show Director for WWDMAGIC, PROJECT Women’s and FAME. “Original content will be distributed to millions of consumers and industry executives worldwide, through WWD and UBM Fashion’s marketing channels. Not only does it offer our brands a memorable experience; it’s an unprecedented opportunity for exposure worldwide.”
Brands participating in the WWD Content Studio include: B.B. Dakota, Bora Designs, Rebel Designs, Andy + Evan, Dex, RD International, State Bags, among many others. Panel discussion topics will range from trends at MAGIC, business inspiration and analysis, social media’s effect on the fashion industry, and many more.
