Talk about taking wearable technology a notch higher!
Eyewear manufacturing group Safilo recently announced its collaboration with Interaxon Inc., a Canadian company that specializes in consumer brain sensing technology, for a potential line of wearable technology called SAFILOX.
The partnership covers strategic research and development, as Safilo sees this as an entry point to the wearable technology sector. For the past 12 months, Interaxon and Safilo have been working to develop stylish eyewear that are also capable of invisible brain sensing technology, which supposedly helps improve mental acuity.
“SAFILOX is the perfect intersection of our renowned iconic eyewear design and authentic quality craftsmanship dating back to 1878, the leading brain sensing technology application, and today’s most coveted consumer search to master mental focus and strength to achieve enhanced personal performance and wellbeing,” said Luisa Delgado, CEO of SAFILO.
In relation, Interaxon sees this collaboration as a means to make its Muse technology more accessible. The Muse is an Interaxon signature product that enables people to enhance their mental focus, and is backed up by more than 100 brain research partnerships, including NASA and IBM.
“With SAFILOX, Interaxon becomes broadly accessible,” said Derek Luke, Interaxon CEO. “We are excited to spread the positive impact of our technology through Safilo’s authentic quality and aspirational style.”
SAFILOX will first be offered through Safilo’s SMITH performance eyewear brand. Meanwhile, Interaxon will officially present its partnership with Safilo at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, from January 5-8, 2017.
