With its signature minimalist aesthetic, Cuyana has opened its first flagship store in New York City. Located at 29 Prince Street in Soho, this is the retailer’s first New York store, although it does have plenty of consumer data from four years of pop-ups in the city. According to Design:Retail, this shows up in simple (yet essential) ways like having handbags with weighted blocks inside them so consumers can get a true feel for how they will lay in real life.
The store’s leather door handle carries through the concept of simple elegance. In fact, the brand’s Lean Closet ethos is about buying less but buying better, as stated on the website.
“OUR LEAN CLOSET MOVEMENT CHALLENGES US TO COLLECT FEWER, BETTER THINGS, AND TO DONATE THE PIECES IN OUR WARDROBES THAT ARE MERELY TAKING UP SPACE TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM.”
