From Puerto Rico, with love—and big business!
The move comes after the Novus group felt that its prospects in the U.S. are already ripe and ready to be picked up and utilized.
“We are aware of the importance of the South Florida market and the large Puerto Rican population of more than 300,000 current residing in the area that identifies closely with the brand,” said Sandra Castellon, marketing director for Novus. “Through this expansion, we will now be able to offer our excellent service and products to the communities in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.”
Novus has been in the shoe retailing business in Puerto Rico since the ’70s. Through the years, it has expanded its selling portfolio as well into other accessories like handbags and jewelry.
But more than catering to U.S.-based Puerto Ricans, the retailer’s expansion will also serve to test its new prototype store designed by ADV Alvarez Diaz Villalon, reportedly a modern style mixed media store made with wood and metal, painted in Novus’ signature red color.
When Novus starts its retail operations, it will also offer a mobile payment system that will allow its customers to pay for their purchases without queueing in line.
