Prairie Style Hits the Big Screen in “Woman Walks Ahead”

With all the prairie fashion out there, take a few hours this weekend to see some authentic styles in “Woman Walks Ahead,” a true story starring Jessica Chastain about a painter in 1880’s Brooklyn who travels out West to paint Sioux chief Sitting Bull.

Costume Designer Stephanie Collie worked with tribal elders to get the nuances right, and as a woman produced film, it puts “the female gaze” on the more traditional western. We’re not sure which items we like best, his or hers!
