Here’s a question we dare to ask: Who’s more popular today than Miley Cyrus and Khloe Kardashian on Instagram?
The answer: Nike.
Social media analytics firm Iconosquare recently declared the sportswear brand as the most popular fashion label on Instagram, based from a study conducted during April and May 2017 measuring total followers and follower growth.
As of press time, Nike has 72.7 million followers on Instagram, beating the celebrities mentioned in terms of number of followers. Joining Nike as some of the reputably growing brands today on social media are the fast-fashion retailers Zara and H&M.
“The boundaries between Instagram and brands’ shopping pages are becoming increasingly blurred. As the world’s most popular visual social network, a quality Instagram presence is more than a ‘nice to have’ for high street fashion brands, it’s essential to their success,” said Romain Ouzeau, CEO of Iconosquare.
Nike seems to be aggressive on making its brand continuously relevant to a wide market range. This year, Nike ranked as 16th on Forbes‘ Top 100 list of valuable brands, making it the topmost fashion brand on the list. As a company, Nike is currently worth $29.6 billion.
