PINTEREST RELEASES ITS 2017 WEDDING REPORT

In Reports, What's New by Christine Galasso

Pinterest, the social media collage board application, released its 2017 Weddings Report, filled with analytics revealing the top bridal trends among its users.

The report offers a complete look on what’s hot in everything that goes into weddings, from the current color preference of invitations (pink) to couples showing a penchant for mountain top ceremonies.

On the fashion front, brides are increasingly pinning statement earrings by 60% more year over year. Off the shoulder dress pins are also off the charts, showing a 158% surge. Ready to wear bridesmaid dresses are now favored over made-to-order dresses, which could only be worn once. Bridal party dresses are also eschewing solid colors for printed gowns instead.

As for bridal beauty, red lips and pink eye shadow are key looks while brides have ditched fussy hair, opting for simple updos.

Overall, the key takeaways are that much like in fashion and retail, weddings are getting more and more personalized and couples are putting more fun elements into their big day.
