Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2019 Collection felt more Fall than Spring, with lots of black leather, croco print bags and jackets, and tux elements. The palette was mainly black, white and a grayish lavender. There was also a distinct mix of hard and soft, from wide croco belts mixed with flowy chiffon capes, to croco jackets over elegant fringed gowns.
One unifying element was the head scarf, either in a chiffon or in a shimmery materials. All were completely hair concealing in the front, but wrapped in a unique way around a bun in the back. This is keeping with the trend we saw for Fall 2018 of scarves completely covering the hair.
Accessories were clean and sharp, from cross-body camera bags in embossed croco that matched jackets, to large leather totes in white or beige. One unique piece were wide leather cuffs that allowed watches to thread through for a fashion watch update. Overall, the looks were matched and coordinated, both in color and material.
