Marc Jacobs’ collection for spring 2017 had an over-the-top approach to the club and disco youth culture, with an abundant and eclectic mix of prints, metallic and patent leather materials as well as shiny bedazzled embellishments. Accessories complimented each look with a variety of sky-high, retro platforms that were paired with knee-high socks in colorful patterns and embellishments. And let’s not forget the mention the hair, the colorful dreadlocks styles made for a lasting impression!
Rodarte’s spring 2017 collection takes cue from a mix of country and rock and roll styles in the form of soft floral prints, embroidery, metallics and delicate knits. Earrings were key to each look, with two different variations: mismatched earrings and the connected earring look (created with a number of earrings connected to each other with a gilded chain, similar to a necklace). There was also lots of arm candy with layered bangles and bracelets up the arm. These stackable styles were seen in silver, leather and gold materials with studs and hardware adding to the rock star vibe.
Zac Posen’s Spring collection for Brooks Brothers showcased well-tailored, clean and necessary appeal. With the posh summer getaway as his main inspiration, looks were modern and sophisticated with playful and contemporary accessories. Flat brimmed straw hats, printed silk neckerchiefs and classic slide sandals mad for a youthful approach the historic brand.
