Mellisa, cruelty free footwear and accessories brand using recyclable PVC, unveiled its latest designer collaboration last night on the Baja East runway. Baja East designers Scott Studenberg and John Targon felt the bold, punchy accessories were the perfect match for their brand’s laid-back luxury.
The runway show was held at Melissa‘s new experiential Galeria in SoHo, New York. The collection features four footwear styles (a flat slide, flat sandal, chunky high-heeled mule and closed-toe ankle desert boot) as well as a drawstring bucket bag.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Melissa…right away we were awed by the caliber of the brand’s innovation over several decades,” offers Baja East designer, John Targon. “As a company, their approach to design is so complementary to our spirit and how we play with fashion. The whole Melissa + Baja East collaboration is a totally fresh way to approach a new category for us, and using Galeria Melissa as our show venue [elevates] the NYFW experience.”
The re-envisioned Galeria space was born from a futuristic eye, innovated with the latest technology to create a multi-sensory experience that surpasses the typical shopping experience.
Melissa + Baja East is now available for purchase at all three Galeria Melissa locations around the world, including Galeria Melissa NYC (500 Broadway between Spring and Broome Streets). The shoes retail between $105 and $150 and the bag for $170.
