NYFW FW18 Breaking Trends: Juicy Couture

In Runways, What's New, Industry News by Lauren Parker, Accessories Magazine

For its first runway presentation, Juicy Couture’s Creative Director Jamie Mizrahi rolled out an irreverent, fun and feminine collection with a touch of 70s/80s decadence. Highlights included ultra-feminine dresses in masculine hues, faux-fur dusters, glitter covered body-suits, velour puffer-jackets and sequined pouch bags.

“Juicy Couture’s brand history is so deeply rooted in the 90s/00s, that we thought for this season it would be fun to explore what it could look like through the lens of other decades, particularly the 70s/80s – I pulled inspiration from ‘The Last Days of Discos’ and images of studio 54 – funny enough the final ended up being something quite modern and wholly Juicy Couture,” said Jamie Mizrahi.

The Asian influence was strong, with rich burgundy hues.
