New York—Ever wish that all those miles the models walk during Fashion Week from castings, fittings, runways and post-show parties could be put to productive use? They will, thanks to the Nine West Runway Relief Program, now in its second year.

For every mile that a participating Runway Relief models walks during Fashion Week, Nine West will donate $1 to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC), the charitable organization of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). To keep track, Nine West has created a limited-edition Runway Relief boot equipped with The Fitbit Wireless Activity Tracker pedometer.

Boots Available for Sale

The military-inspired boots will be sold for $199 online and in-store at Nine West and Nordstrom with proceeds going to FTBC. The Fitbit Wireless Activity Tracker is not included but can be purchased at Fitbit.com.

“We are thrilled to see the Nine West Runway Relief Program return for the second year in a row. This program and our exclusive partnership with The CFDA reaffirms Nine West’s dedication to raising money for breast cancer awareness and prevention, a cause that is embedded in the brand’s DNA,” says Stacy Lastrina, Chief Marketing Officer of The Jones Group and creator of the program. “We are confident that the fashion community will join us once again in giving back, and supporting this powerful movement.”

Starting next year, Nine West will be the exclusive brand partner for FTBC.

To kick off Nine West’s Runway Relief Program, Nigel Barker will photograph the models from IMG, Women and Elite modeling agencies, capturing fashion giving back on camera. Nigel, alongside Chrissy Teigen and Leslie Fremar, will host a fun and interactive event during Fashion’s Night Out on September 8th at Nine West’s Rockefeller Center location to encourage the community to participate in the Nine West Runway Relief Program. Columbia Records has created a compilation soundtrack for the program including tracks from John Legend, Peter Bjorn and John, Foster the People, Cults and more. The compilation will be available for sale starting August 30th through Fashion Week with a percentage of the proceeds going to FTBC.
