It wasn’t just Carrie’s giant flower pin or Samantha’s designer head scarves on “Sex and the City” that turned heads, it was everything—the good, the bad, the outrageous, the questionable, even the boring (we’re talking to YOU Charlotte!). Manhattan’s Cosmo-sipping quad were a cultural phenomenon…and the fashions were definitely a major character on the show.
Now, New York designer Chelsea Fairless (founder of female-trouble.com) and director/producer Lauren Garroni (creator of breathless.com) in LA, have decided to keep the SATC fashion conversation going. The duo has undertaken the huge task of cataloging every single “Sex and The City” outfit and accessory into a digital encyclopedia that lives on Instagram (@everyoutfitonsatc). That’s a lot of Fendi baguettes.
Up for just a month, the Instagram account already has 137,000 followers, not to mention an endorsement from SATC costume designer Patricia Field herself. Below, a glimpse of just a few memorable outfits. And when you check out the Instagram, be sure to read the comments; they’re as much fun as the outfits!
