Adamstown, PA–Musicians often drive hat trends so might as well make it official!

Multi-platinum, three-time Grammy Award-winning Def Jam recording artist Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) has entered into a partnership with Bollman Hat Company as its exclusive global licensee. The Grammy award winning singer, songwriter, composer and producer will personally design the headwear collection.

Ne-Yo’s brand will be called Francis Ellargo, as the name “signifies the ultimate gentleman—an individual who demonstrates style, grace, sophistication and courtesy. Francis Ellargo is a man of distinguished taste, a sartorial innovator who pushes boundaries today by honoring the best menswear traditions from our past.”

It is Ne-Yo’s mission for each of us to cultivate our inner Francis Ellargo, and there’s no better first step than the acquisition of a Francis Ellargo hat.

Don Rongione, president/ceo of Bollman noted: “We are thrilled to partner with Ne-Yo who is not just a talented artist and phenomenal entertainer, but has become an icon for headwear and is also someone who gives back to youth in need through The Compound Foundation.

In other headwear news, Ne-Yo has been named to The Headwear Association’s Headwear Hall of Fame and will be inducted along with five other notorious hat wearers at their annual dinner this March.

“Hats have always been a part of who I am,” said Ne-Yo, “so headwear was the obvious first product to launch under my brand. Offering the world’s best quality and American made matters to me, so connecting with America’s oldest and the world’s best hat maker was also an obvious choice.”
