Today, NYC-based eyewear brand MOSCOT opens its fourth location in the city in the newly revamped Chelsea Market. The market is cementing its status as a food and retail epicenter, an ethos that MOSCOT Chief Design Officer and VP Zack Moscot says is right in line with the brand.
“With the paradigm shift in consumer shopping patterns, Chelsea Market represents a truly unique destination where New Yorkers and others can experience exotic food, eclectic items, and now MOSCOT eyewear and eyecare,” he tells Accessories. “The market offers the consumer a multi-faceted shopping experience that is interactive and experiential, which is critical in order to make a retail experience worthwhile these days. Chelsea Market is also quite similar to MOSCOT on a historical level, as we are both considered iconic New York City institutions.”
Of course, the new location will continue the retailer’s effort to create an experiential in-shop atmosphere. Its latest touchpoint that will debut at Chelsea Market is called the “Tint-A-Majig,” a quirky arcade-style contraption that will allow consumers to experience MOSCOT‘s custom-made lens tinting options. The concept fuses a fun try-before-you-buy concept with an entertaining experience.
“The Tint-A-Majig takes lens tinting to a whole new level,” Moscot offers. “It’s exactly these types of wacky innovations, coupled with the professionalism and authenticity of MOSCOT, that we feel make our experience memorable, which is exactly how my Great Grandpa Hyman always insisted it be!”
The new location will also offer a nod to its neighboring tech giants by providing a specially trained Optometrist to evaluate Computer Vision Syndrome and specific Eye Testing for those staring at computer screens all day.
