Ever notice that as soon as something swoops onto your radar, you see it everywhere?

Well, this is happening to me. A day after By Hand Consulting invited me on a buyer/editor trip to Morocco to check out their amazing artisans (more on this when I return!), my senses are more attuned to all the Moroccan inspiration swirling around me in the fashion industry. And since I honeymooned there five years ago, this is extra exciting! Above is the lovely Riad Meriem, where I stayed in Marrakech.

But Morocco’s influence is definitely seeping in! Above, J.Crew’s Fall 2013 collection, inspired by Morocco’s rich tapestry of colors and patterns.

The email I recently got promoting Parides’ new dress collection at LA Fashion Week. Note the Marrakech dress front and center.

This morning, I swung by the Fall 2013 press preview at Isabella Fiore handbags, only to see a trend board of Moroccan tile and embroidery photos. Here, some of their amazing handbags.

Theodora and Callum Casablanca scarf351

Theodora & Callum, which names each of its scarves after different cities, is showing its Casablanca scarf for Fall 2013.Then, I got a call from my jewelry designer friend Nathalie Sherman at Sophia & Chloe, who actually IS French Moroccan. Much of her jewelry is inspired by this vibrant country. These earrings are inspired by “the language of Moroccan Henna tattoos, where each tiny arabesque has a distinct meaning.”

And just 10 minutes ago, I received an email pitch from Danica Cosic Design, which actually works with Moroccan artisans to create authentic artisenal items, like this hand-stitched Kenza wristlet.
