So says designer Jessica McClintock and she should know. A self-made fashion entrepreneur who turned her initial $5,000 investment into a multi-million apparel and accessories brand whose romantic designs are known by prom-going teens to their grandmothers, McClintock has taken her romantic notions cross categories.

Now, Magid Handbags and Accessories has partnered with Jessica McClintock to create and market McClintock’s new collection of spring hats, fascinators and hair accessories.
Scheduled to premiere during the August market at Magid’s New York showroom, AccessoriesTheShow and WWD Magic in Las Vegas, the Jessica McClintock hats and hair accessories collection will retail for between $49 to $159.
Founded in 1916, Magid has a longtime history of success stories, too, including its own brands Magid, Prezzo and Tianni brands and as well as being a key private label resource to major retailers and specialty stores.
Commenting on the company’s expansion in headwear, Pinny Rand, Magid’s president, said “that our hat business is up more than 30% from last year. So this is a perfect time to expand the hat and hair categories.” He also noted that hair fascinators have provided a huge boost to the business–thanks to the “Kate Effect” from the Duchess of Cambridge.
