Experiential retail STORY has unveiled its newest theme and it is LOVE STORY… just in time for Valentine’s Day. But this theme actually isn’t all about pairing off; it’s about self-love courtesy of female-owned brands and startups. Always mindful of that Instagrammable moment, LOVE STORY starts with infinity mirror (above), where visitors can put themselves into the endless void and selfie away, then follow lights through the store that end up by a Mylar photo wall.
First stop: flowers! And ladies, why wait for a guy to give you flowers when you can make them yourself? Shoppers can create their own DIY floral arrangements with help from new fresh floral bouquet subscription service, It’s By U. Or, they can buy a subscription box to do it at home!
ACCESSORIES & GIFTS
As always, STORY features an eclectic mix of accessories and gift items at various pricepoints.
Some favorite gift picks include handmade pins from Mignonne Gavigan (shown above) that celebrate fierce females–think Hillary or Michelle, Anna or Oprah (exclusively at STORY). Lingua Franca’s 100% cashmere sweaters feature empowering messages while Skin’s organic cottons offer cozy sexy sleepwear. Other highlights include a Shinola personalization station with journals that can be embossed; custom necklace builder Mathematics by Beth Macri makes gifting easy; and consumers can mix and match digital photos with the Magnaframe, a new frame-building system that allows for IRL portrait gallery creation.
Next, skin care! 100% natural and organic skincare line LOLI Skincare features food-grade, responsibly sourced ingredients which you can custom-blend into beauty products that specifically suit your skin type.
Okay, back to the selfies! Jonathan Rosen’s high-tech positive-affirmation mirrors cause lots of literal and metaphorical self reflection. Reminding us of everything we love about our lives, more than 500+ words flash across the mirror. The coolest part? The stream freezes as soon as a photo is taken. Added incentive: a contest to win three month of Daily Harvest by tagging images with #Dhlovestory.
Seriously, what’s not to love?
