New York—For the second year in a row, Lane Bryant, a leading plus-size women’s specialty apparel retailer, was named “Plus Retailer of the Year” at the annual Full Figured Fashion Week (FFFWeek) awards ceremony last Saturday.

The “Plus Retailer of the Year” award is among 13 individuals or businesses throughout the United States who were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the plus size fashion industry.

“Lane Bryant is honored to receive the Plus Retailer of the Year award,” said Jay Dunn, vice president of marketing for Lane Bryant, a subsidiary of Charming Shoppes, Inc. “We are thrilled to be considered among reputable and emerging plus retailer competitors for this award at Full Figured Fashion Week and we will continue to keep our customer in mind as we work together to create fashion-forward, quality clothes for the full figured woman.”

This marks the second year that the FFFWeek executive team has chosen award recipients based on their overall excellence and commitment to the plus-sized community. The executive team is lead by Gwen DeVoe, creator and executive producer of FFFWeek.

Full Figured Fashion Week, produced by DeVoe Signature Events in 2009, is the first event of its kind for the curvy fashion community. It provides a place for plus-size models and consumers, bloggers and media to celebrate full figured fashion with a series of conferences, workshops, shopping trips, meet-and-greets and fashion shows.

The goal is to introduce plus-size fashion collections to a wider audience, showcase plus-models on the runway and allow the media, fashion industry buyers and consumers to have access to collections they may not be aware of.
