Wait! You think Spring is here? Not so fast! New Yorkers were greeted with an arctic blast of snowfall back on the first day on Spring and that seems to have set the tone for the following weeks as well, so don’t put your chunky knit scarfs away just yet. Instead, turn to designer Rachael Warner’s handmade knitwear line Spratters & Jayne for your abnormally chilly Springwear needs.
Warner, a North Dakota native, currently based in NYC, taught herself to knit and design her own scarves when she found a void of great, edgy styles. Compliments on her creations from friends, family and even strangers on street gave her confidence to start her own company. An added push came when, while walking through Soho, a stranger approached her and insisted on buying her scarf right off her neck!
Since 2009 Spratters & Jayne has worked exclusively with companies committed to ethical production to create luxury handmade scarves, hats and gloves. Working with groups who share their long-term vision and commitment to small-scale production ensures a superior product and a sustainable future.
Made of 100% roving wool, this warm, light, chunky cowl is sure to be a great addition to any urbanite’s wardrobe.
