SLIDE 2Finalist for Best Handbag in Overall Style and Design at the 2014 International Handbag Design Awards, trained interior designer, art connoisseur and fashion enthusiast Jalan Sahba draws inspiration from her travels, background and multicultural experiences.

Her collection L’Odissea is embedded with a distinctly sophistication and sultry lure. Trademarks of the designs are creamy calf leather, masterfully hand-carved semi-precious stones and tinged metals come together to create a timeless collection.

L’Odissea embodies the astute allegiance between the conviction of Italian craftsmanship and the intriguing aesthetics of inspired global design.

Sahbá explains, “I credit my affinity for art, culture and design to my rich multicultural lineage, artistic background and innate aesthetic sensibility. These influences are entrenched at the heart of each creation.”

This Italian-crafted hair-on textured leather box clutch is framed by polished 14K gold plated hardware and adorned with a short removable bracelet-like chain to accommodate a snug grip. The interior is a flash of bold lemon-eyes Italian leather. It’s the perfect size to hold the essentials: your mobile, your money and the perfect shade of lipstick.

Drawn to art from a young age, Sahbá enjoys traveling the globe to find eclectic materials and shapes to use in her designs. She’s lived on four different continents to date, currently residing in Nairobi. And as a result of her formal training in interior design Sahbá’s pieces tend to push the boundaries when it comes to traditional handbag design.
