Dutch fashion watch brand KYBOE! has officially entered the U.S. market as part of its massive global expansion.
The Netherlands-based cult watch brand, created in 2008 by founders and best friends Dick Sijmons and Kees deBruïne, launched recently on Saks.com with more than 50 SKUs.
In early 2016, the brand plans to roll out in select retail and fine department stores throughout the country.
Inspired by their own global travel and adventures, the pair of founders set out to create a watch that fit their own bohemian lifestyles.
Out of the trunk of the car, they built a strong European consumer following and secured distribution in the Netherlands, France and Spain, but always wanted to expand globally and build a presence in the U.S. In spring 2015 they formed a partnership with Marc Bell, the founder and managing partner of Marc Bell Capital and Joseph Roos, a principal at Marc Bell Capital.
Bell has committed an infusion of capital along with a powerful marketing and distribution plan that will build KYBOE!
“Kees and I set out to create a brand that we loved and that was inspired by our passion for travel, fun and fashion, “ says Co-Founder Dick Sijmons. “Inspired by the striking colors of the tulip fields of the Netherlands, KYBOE! offers oversized, colorful styles for both women and men.”
Ranging in price from $190 to $530, KYBOE! Is best known for its oversized watches—very oversized. This blue camo style can be purchased in 48 millimeter and a whopping 55 millimeters, too. It also features a large face with LED backlighting… (Movements: Citizen-Miyota Quartz) Truly a timepiece to turn heads.
To celebrate the U.S. launch of the brand, KYBOE! Recently produced an Art Basel exhibition and cocktail reception in Miami featuring Burning Man sensation, Laura Kimpton.
