Item of the Day: Hadry

In Item of the Day, What's New by Jeff Prine

hadry2Hadry–which pitches its head scarves as the ultimate beach cover up for the head–was actually born thanks to social media.

While enjoying a July day at the pool with her children, creator Erica Diamond recalls seeing a new mom swimming with her baby. “The mom had just had her hair freshly blown out for a wedding that evening, and she was wearing a white plastic shower cap in the pool to keep her hair protected,” Diamond says. As @EricaDiamond she tweeted: “A mom is now in the pool with her baby and a shower cap on. Kinda smart actually!”

To which her friend in Los Angeles tweeted back, “Don’t laugh! If there was something stylish out there, I would totally wear it!”

hadryillustrationA light bulb went off for Diamond who created Hadry in a variety of colors, patterns and styles to complement swimsuit looks. Each uses an innovative fabric to protect hair from the elements and harmful UV rays. Fabric locks out the humidity, is breathable and is water resistant while both keeping hair dry and protecting. “Tuck all your hair in while swimming for a more classic and sophisticated look, or leave your hair out for a more fun and chic appeal,” Diamond advises.
