Cork croco? Yes, you read that right!

We never cease to be amazed at all the incarnations a trend can take. As croco has steadily taken the handbag and shoe industries by storm, we’ve seen it in every color imaginable as well as croc patterns embossed on everything from haircalf to faux leather. But cork is something new.

Portuguese company Pelcor takes simple, durable natural cork and embosses a sleek, textured croco print over it.

Sustainability tidbit: A symbol of renewal and longevity, the cork oak has a lifetime of 250 to 350 years and is the only tree whose bark regenerates itself after each harvest. An adult cork oak produces several hundred pounds at each harvesting and will live for many generations.

This Gold Envelope Clutch is a sleek 13- x 9-inch document folder that completely unfolds and closes with a button for total security of contents. And it’s super lightweight and water resistant, too.
