In Item of the Day, What's New by Robinson Maynes

Biting the bullet with mundane accessories is no longer necessary thanks to high style of the “Bullet Bar Cuff” by designing duo Melvin.

Based in North Carolina, Melvin is a collaboration between M. Clifford founder/chief designer Martha Clifford, and her niece Morgan Walker.

And while the South might have a reputation for their gun-lovin’ ways (sorry, our Blue State bias is showing), this leather cuff has all the makings of a pacifist. It’s made from unused bullets that the designers hammered down and melded together. With its antique gold finish against the rich camel-colored leather, what once served completely another purpose, is turned into something incredibly chic and creative.

Whether you choose to wear a single cuff on one wrist, or grab a pair to adorn each arm, Melvin surely shot the fashion target with this Bullet Bar Cuff.

Retail $243 to $273, depending on whether adorned with Swarovski crystals. Call 704-363-7590;
