Poor Christopher Columbus never had it this easy. But making life easy for busy professional women is what Overt, a new contemporary New York handbag brand, is all about.
Produced, designed and made in New York City, the first Overt bag is designed specifically to “accommodate the challenges of city life.” Called the Noho, the leather bag, has multiple personalities, a “24 hour companion wherever you go,” says the designers.
While on first look, the Noho resembled a backpack, it is more: a tote, yoga bag, travel bag and clutch.
The Overt girls, Lauren Kozica and Sarah Saxty, both originally from Australia, have called New York City home for several years. And the concept was devised following their shared living experiences in downtown Manhattan.
“We wanted to design a bag, as a solution to the multiple bags girls in the city carry around from 7 am till 1 am,” say the two founders. “One that is a real backpack, but still looks great.”
The Noho’ top handle converts the bag into a tote, giving the option to carry a lighter load on her arm. The opening of the Noho Bag has been designed to open out so it can hold a yoga mat. And an additional removable clutch pouch is handy for carrying around after you’ve checked your bigger bag.
Additional colors will be available soon.
