Item of the Day: Lusasul

In Item of the Day, What's New by Jeff Prine

LusasulAt the risk of mixing metaphors during this the holiday season, Lusasul, a Mexican art jewelry house, presents its bloody love necklace.

A bit vampirish for Christmas? Perhaps but you’ll be the talk of the New Year’s Eve party. Lusasul describes the dripping necklace as “the illusion of wearing shiny metal that moves smoothly through the body…the dripping effect is achieved thanks to the skill of the master craftsmen who work with us, as none of the pieces uses a mold for manufacturing, this liquid appearance is achieved with many hours devoted to shape the material.”

Made of sterling silver with a gold overlay and at 20-inches long, the bloody necklace falls just below the neck, avoiding a Marie-Antoinette reference and making a case for a dramatic entrance to any holiday party.
