So we were thrilled to spot this lightning bolt ring from jewelry company Fiat Lux, and even more thrilled to learn it was called the Ziggy. “The name of this ring comes from Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie’s intergalactic alter ego,” says Laura Bowman, Fiat Lux Account and Shop manager. “We wanted to create a ring that reflected the oddball and offbeat beauty of his work. Each ring is one-of-a-kind because no two stones are exactly alike.”
The ring is made from Alaskan black Quartz with silver veins – custom cut into a lightening bolt and set in sterling silver. It’s all designed by Marie McCarthy and handmade at Fiat Lux’s downtown San Francisco studio. The company originated in 2011 as a highly curated shop featuring a small collection of handmade and small batch jewelry.
Bowie would approve.
