Gilt Groupe to Sell “Mad Men” Collection

Banana Republic launches the full collection in its own stores on August 11.

New York–Maddicts will have their first opportunity to buy apparel and accessories inspired by their favorite 1960s-era characters from the “Mad Men” TV series in a special full-price preview sale on Gilt Groupe beginning Monday, July 25.

In its first for Banana Republic, a capsule collection of women’s and men’s apparel and accessories from its Mad Men collection will be offered for sale outside the store’s own channels.

Merchandise in the preview will include tailored dresses, high-waisted skirts, silk tie-neck blouses and accessories including print scarves and leopard print pump heels.  Selections from men’s also will be included.

“Accessible luxury is something both Banana Republic and Gilt Groupe deliver, so this partnership was a natural fit,” said Banana Republic chief marketing officer, Catherine Sadler, Banana Republic’s chief marketing officer. “We’re excited to see how customers respond.”

The entire Banana Republic Mad Men collection includes than 60 articles of apparel and accessories designed in collaboration with “Mad Men” costume designer Janie Bryant,  and will be launched in Banana Republic’s North America stores and online starting August 11.

The Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning AMC series “Mad Men” returns for a fifth season in March 2012.
