UBM Fashion Group, organizer of MAGIC, Coterie, Project, Stitch, AccessoriesTheShow, Accessorie Circuit and more, just announced the launch of FN PLATFORM in New York City.
After opening in Vegas in 2010, FN PLATFORM has grown to over 500,000 square feet at its Las Vegas showcase. Launching in February 2017, FN PLATFORM NYC will run twice a year during Coterie NYC inside the Javits Convention Center in New York City. The show will premiere alongside Stitch, Moda, Edit and AccessoriesTheShow to further cater to the women’s market and offer a head-to-toe buying experience.
“Each year, the show has continued to thrive and these additions will bring continued freshness and opportunity for both sides of the aisle,” said Leslie Gallin, UBM Fashion Group, President of Footwear. “Footwear is a critical portion in the fashion landscape. The east coast launch will offer a one-stop shopping experience while creating welcoming interest for new brands and retailers from all over the world.
When asked about how the shows differ, Gallin explained: “Each of our shows resonates with a different audience. New York is geared towards the apparel retailer who is looking for footwear and the Tri-state footwear retailers. FN PLATFORM NY will ONLY showcase Women’s & Junior footwear and accessories. FN PLATFORM Las Vegas is an International forum for footwear. It showcases all categories including Men’s, Women’s, Juniors and Children’s under one roof. FN PLATFORM Las Vegas is the destination for those who are serious about doing business in the footwear arena. Our shows are designed to offer each of our brands clear strategic pathways to the omni-channel buying community. ”
Gallin also adds that the reason for bringing FN PLATFORM to New York came about upon the acquisition of BJI shows. “We recognized that Sole Commerce has always been a juried show. It seemed like the right time with consumers buying high and low to bring a full range of footwear to New York and co-locate alongside our other fashion events.”
ELEVATED SOLE COMMERCE
In addition to the launch of FN PLATFORM in New York City, Sole Commerce will further elevate its show through a highly edited selection of brands for entry. A juried event with attention to design, quality and price point, Sole Commerce will shift its focus to brands in the luxury market. The show will sit alongside accessories at the center of the Coterie show floor.
Sole Commerce will elevate its offering to footwear and accessories retailing above $400. All other footwear will be located with within the FN PLATFORM brand. “We feel this makes sense and allows for ease of navigation for retailers shopping our shows,” said Gallin.
