Window Shop and Win with Net-A-Porter’s “The Window Shop” App

New York–How does an on-line retailer participate in a brick-and-mortar shopping event? With an innovative concept called “The Window Shop.”

Shoppers who download the free “The Window Shop” app (for iPhone, iPad2 and Android) can literally window shop from vinyl graphics placed on pop-up window shops.

All they have to do is point their mobile devide at the item of choice and they can purchase them directly (or, if they’re lucky, win it as a prize).

Items will be delivered the next day, so no worries about schlepping purchases around during Fashion’s Night Out festivities.

“From its inception, FNO has galvanized shoppers to take to the streets and take part in a night of tailor-made events that bring unprecedented foot traffic into the stores. With the Window Shops concept, we found a way to participate in the excitement of FNO that is true to our brand with the innovative use of technology, shopping on the go from one’s mobile device, our edit of the most relevant and sought-after fashions of the moment, and the added bonus of having the opportunity to win prizes,” said Alison Loehnis, vice president of marketing and sales.

In New York, “The Window Shop” shopping and contest experience be at 55 Mercer Street in Soho from 6 p.m. on September 8.
