New York—FASA together with Accessories Magazine have announced the New York Market Dates for 2011.

Dates are as follows:

• January 10-14

• February 21-25

• May 2-6

• August 1-5

• November 7-11

This new schedule adds a February Market Week, which replaces the one traditionally held in March.

“The addition of a late-February market and the removal of March was a strategic decision that was reached after much deliberation with major department stores, trade shows, industry manufacturers and specialty stores,” says Sara Mayes, president of FASA.

It’s all about timing. “The shift is to better suit large retailers who need to plan their Fall buys earlier, while also allowing manufacturers of all classifications enough time to have merchandise ready. A market in the third week of February allows for this,” says Lorrie Frost, publisher of Accessories magazine.
