New York—FABB, the Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball, will hold its 22nd annual accessories industry fundraiser on Tuesday, May 3, at the Chelsea Piers. This year’s honorees include Michael Gould, ceo of Bloomingdale’s and Evan Mittman of Cipriani/Li & Fung Ltd.

FABB—which is the accessories industry’s largest charity event—has raised $14 million for numerous charities over the years. Beneficiaries this year include The Children’s Aid Society, the Foundation Fighting Blindness and The Black Ranch, a sanctuary for homeless and abused animals, Reenie Brown, FABB’s chairman and founder, said.

$14 Million Raised for Charities

As part of the festivities, FABB honors industry leaders. This year’s FAME award, the Fashion Accessories Merchandising Excellent award, will be presented to Gould, and the Accessories Achievement Award will go to Mittman. In addition, Accessories magazine will be presenting its 2011 Merchants Hall of Fame inductees with plaques commemorating their achievement.

Like last year, FABB will feature “dinner by the bite” with food stations serving various hors d’oeuvres and dinners instead of a formal sit down dinner. And in keeping with the festive cocktail atmosphere, party attire, rather than black tie, is the suggested dress.

Founded by Brown, then publications director of Accessories magazine, a division of Business Journals Inc., FABB was created as the accessories industry’s sole charity event that would bring everyone together for a celebration and raise money for charities.

Tickets are $450 per person, with tables available for $5,500.
