Missing Lady Crawley’s strands of pearls and fashion-forward headbands? Having withdrawals from Cora’s velvet kimonos? You’re in luck because tomorrow launches “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition,” an immersive event that will have you experiencing the utmost in elegance from the costumes to the house. The exhibit combines original costumes and props with virtual reality technology to recreate the original sets down to the smallest of details and put you in the action, both “upstairs and downstairs.”
Based on the beloved television show, the exhibition transports visitors to post-Edwardian England, where the characters and the iconic house come to life. The event features the social history, culture and some of the most memorable moments from the show’s six-season run. The best part? The quips from The Dowager Countess, Violet, such as: “You’ll find there’s never a dull moment in this house.”
The exhibition is located at 218 West 57th Street between Broadway & 7th Avenue, with showtimes running November 18, 2017 through January 1, 2018. To purchase tickets or for more information, click here.
