Longarone, Italy–Italian eyewear company De Rigo Vision S.p.A, will expand into the U.S. and Canadian market through a joint venture with Marr International Group. The agreement will initially distribute De Rigo brands Celine, Chopard, Givenchy and Furla, followed by Police, Escada, Ermenegildo Zegna and Blumarine, from January 2011 onwards.

The optical collections for Police, De Rigo Vision’s key house brand, will continue to be distributed by Eastern States.

De Rigo has a major eyewear/sunwear presence in Asia, the Middle East and South America via 14 direct subsidiaries and more than 80 independent distributors.

“I am very pleased to announce our alliance with Marr International,” said Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo Vision. “With this important transaction, the De Rigo Group has laid the foundations for its strong, ambitious and long lasting growth in the North American market, to the benefit of all the brands included in our portfolio, and especially our licensed brands.”

Michelle Tiganila, the majority shareholder of Marr International Group, an experienced entrepreneur in the distribution of eyewear luxury brands in America, commented: “I am highly satisfied with this new collaboration with De Rigo group and am confident that thanks to the prestige and quality of the brands, we will shortly reach excellent results.”

The product lines will make their market debut with the 2011 sunglasses collection and will be available in department and specialty stores.
