The hype around Selena Gomez becoming the face of Coach was palpable when it was announced late last year. Since then, the singer/actress, and now model, has been seen wearing the brand during many public appearances, including the Met Gala.
Now, images from Gomez’s new Fall 2017 campaign have dropped, showing her as a chic, sophisticated Coach girl.
The campaign was shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel and is meant to capture the all-American optimism of Coach in a series of images set in New York City. About to embark on a road trip, Gomez lounges in the blush-toned-leather interior of a 1976 Plymouth Fury—the vintage car, a recurring reference in Coach campaigns, symbolizes the freedom and endless possibility of the open road.
“Selena is a rebel and a romantic, a dreamer and a doer who boldly charts her own course,” says Creative Director Stuart Vevers. “To me, she speaks to a generation; she connects.”
Three short films will be released closer to the season, starring Gomez and dedicated to Coach’s key bags of the season: the Rogue, the Coach Swagger and the Edie. Created by Baron & Baron, each video stars Gomez getting ready in a New York City apartment for a night on the town.
