While smartwatches and fitness trackers are expecting a boom this year, traditional watch brands are still relevant for many retailers and watch connoisseurs—at least judging alone from the numerous new models they are launching these days and in the near future.
One such brand is Breitling, where three new models were recently unveiled. We got a preview of them, and more than their timetelling capabilities, these watches are multi-functional, with features such as speed measurement, multiple time zones and water resistance for depths going to 3,330 feet.
Here is a breakdown:
CHRONOLINER LIMITED SERIES
Features: The Chronoliner has a chronograph that measures flight times and a triple timezone display, making it ideal for aviation professionals. It is self-winding, and has aesthetics like an 18K red gold case and straps made of either leather, crocodile leather, or rubber. It’s also water-resistant to 330 feet.
BENTLEY B06 MIDNIGHT CARBON
Features: A continuation of Breitling’s partnership with Bentley, this particular watch model only comes in 500 pieces. It comes in a satin-brushed steel case and a bezel inspired by Bentley radiator grilles, though its main selling point is its variable tachymeter system, which measures speed and distance covered by a watch wearer.
SUPEROCEAN 44 SPECIAL
Features: This is Breitling’s version of a contemporary diving watch that can even be stylish for a formal gathering. It can be taken underwater to a depth of 3,300 feet, with a safety valve that manages water pressure both inside and outside the watch. It also has a dive-time count-off function, as complemented by luminescent indications.
