Nicholas K kicked off NYFW with a blistery winter snow storm, but that didn’t stop the 10 a.m. show! The Fall/Winter 2017 collection was assertive and full of mirrored shine and texture which created a utility meets glam look. Shearling outerwear, crushed velvet designs and leather wrap dresses were complemented with an abundance of accessories. Leather berets and head wraps, mirror metallic boots, as well as giant single hoop earrings and septum rings with gold husk charms (which were part of a collaboration Nicholas K did with K/ller) all stood out with a modern yet striking appeal.
The classic New York American designer took his S/S 17 buy now wear now collection to sunny California and no, not to Hollywood, to Tommyland. The carnival/festival like set up was full of flame throwers, unicyclists and drummers. The TommyxGigi collection was a throwback to the brand’s 90s sportswear aesthetic. Accessories were just as cool and youthful with metal fringe single statement earrings, layered delicate chokers, denim bags completed with patches and pins and of course a white bandanna wrapped around each models wrist in support of Business of Fashion’s #tiredtogether campaign!
