MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION
Michael Kors Fall/Winter 17 collection offered a strong women’s empowerment message with traditional suiting and strong silhouettes, however he also injected bits of the deconstructed look with cocooning proportion. Accessories were strong as well, with colorful fur shawls, waist-cinching belts, slouchy sack bags and chain and grommet details that added some edgy to the timeless looks.
Josep Font, Delpozo’s creative director, left attendees silent with his impeccable Fall/Winter 2017 collection. Trained as an architect, Font is a genius when it comes to color and shape. With a cool, mod/retro collection, the rich silhouettes were like handmade sculpture. Stripes, 3D florals, Lurex and embroidery adorned apparel and accessories – with standouts being the supersize moon bag and the fine hooded knit caps.
Ralph Lauren showcased his Spring 17 line during this NYFW, creating another Buy Now Wear Now collection. He transformed his Madison Avenue store into a floral wonderland with the walls completely covered in orchids and vines. The dreamy collection was a unique blend of a desert feel with a hint of romance. Accessories were bold with brushed gold statement pieces, raw and natural stone collars as well as animal printed handbags embellished with dusty colored exotic skins – all inspiring us to take a Sahara Desert vacation!
