VALENTINO

Valentino 1

Valentino’s Haute Couture 2016 collection was inspired by Renaissance Italy and the fantasy productions by Shakespeare, marking the 400th anniversary since the poet’s death.  Decadent high ruffles, theologically-inspired robes, puffed sleeves and bodices all poetically graced the runway.  The couture house accessorized the magical collection with brass and gold statement necklaces, soft hair pins lining the face and vintage statement rings, which all added to the rich and romantic collection.

ELIE SAAB

Elie Saab

In true Elie Saab fashion, creative director Gilles Mendel showcased an energized Fall 2016 Couture collection.  Known for evening-wear and gowns, looks were lavish with decorative motifs such as embroidered 3-D florals on Chantilly lace and opulent beading and appliques accents on tulle and velvet.  Accessories were just as bold with grand statement necklaces encrusted with crystals and precious stones laying high on the neck, as well as the single statement earring paired with elegant gowns – possibly trying to add in a touch of youthfulness to the brand?
