The Botkier brand is well known for its handbags, especially its famous Trigger style that made the label an early sensation. Now, Botkier is expanding into footwear, right on the heels of its fashion jewelry revival.
Botkier did dabble in shoes once before in 2008 with a limited collection in honor of the brand’s 5th anniversary. While the footwear introduction was due to client demand, the brand’s focus always remained on handbags. Now, a lifestyle expansion is slowly under way.
The footwear debut collection–which is launching this week at Project Women’s in Las Vegas–features color-blocked platforms, lace-up heels, block heels, sneakers, mules, espadrilles and sleek single-soled sandals and wedges. Standout details include color-block suede, embroidered denim and embossed leathers and bold metallics. Many of the details on the shoes can be tied directly back to the signature hardware from the handbags and jewelry.
“I am so excited to launch our 2017 Spring footwear collection,” said Monica Botkier. “There is a void in the market for fashion-forward shoes that appeal to our millennial customers. Our loyal followers have been asking me to do shoes for a long time. I am just so excited to offer them this beautiful and edgy collection.”
The Botkier New York shoes start at $108 retail.
