Fashion should be fun, right? Kinda like …a video game?
Bloomingdale’s, aware of fashion’s love affair for all things 90s retro, has partnered with interactive entertainment company Nintendo for its Spring campaign and retail pop-in experience.
“Let’s Play” launches March 10 in honor of the gamer-created MAR10 Day and will feature merchandise exclusives plus fun in-store events/activations. Think pixelated hearts, black-and-white racing flags and lots of GAME OVER messages. Mario himself was even in store to kick things off.
“With the 90’s nostalgia happening in fashion and pop-culture, Nintendo is the perfect partner to take over the Bloomingdale’s spring campaign,” said Kevin Harter, Bloomingdale’s Group Vice President, Integrated Marketing. “We are continually trying to enhance our customer experience and partnering with Nintendo on in-store activations and limited-edition merchandise reinforces the notion that fashion is about having fun.”
Exclusives span men’s and women’s ready to wear, accessories and home items, featuring playful pixels and retro elements. But there’s more than Marc Jacobs belt bags and Schutz slides. There’s also S’well water bottles, ping-pong paddles and even inflatable pool toys. Some of our favorites:
