Milan—With the start of the Olympic Games only a month away, expect to hear more about British fashion and style. Even via Italy. Allison, the Italian eyewear producer, is joining in the conversation with news that it signed a license renewal with one of the Great Britain’s most iconic designers, Vivienne Westwood.

Under terms of the renewal, Allison will continue to produce and distribute Westwood branded eyewear, including optical frames and sunglasses, through Westwood’s own stores as well as through high-level opticians and department stores worldwide.

“It is really exciting for us to keep on working with such a prestigious and innovative brand as Vivienne Westwood,” said Giorgio Antichi, Allison’s ceo. “The creativity of such an influential and iconic fashion designer, together with our know-how in eyewear production, will allow us to continue creating original and identifiable products.”

Beginning with punk rock in 1970s, Westwood has been pushing the boundaries of contemporary society and her ability to translate these ideas into fashion. A two-time winner of British Designer of the Year, Westwood is rumored to be among the designers who will participate in a salute to British style during the closing ceremony of the London Games in August.
