Adrianna Papell, the brand best known for its eveningwear and special-occasion dresses, will launch a line of handbags in August.
The social occasion bags will be produced by the Silverstein Company, which was established in February 2012 by Scott Silverstein, former head of Nina Footwear, to produce Adrianna Papell-licensed footwear.
“The Adrianna Papell footwear has been super successful and the handbags will be traditional with a twist,” says Lynn Robinson, a veteran of Nina Footwear who is now at Silverstein. “While coordinated footwear and handbags are an important part of our international business, the American market likes more differentiation with a distinct point of view. That said, there will be some footwear influence on the handbags.”
Suggest retail will be between $50 and $120.
